online "niche" dating sites

In this morning's copy of my local newspaper, there was an article about niche dating websites. What are "niche" dating sites? Apparently they are for people who don't have success on sites such as match.com and eharmony.com where there are millions of people looking for love. A niche site has a more narrow focus so that people with specific needs and desires have a better chance of finding someone with similar interests. For example, the article featured a farmer who was getting tired of dating city women who did not understand or enjoy his country living lifestyle. So, he found a niche site for farmers and met and married a woman who loves living in the country. There are also sites for people of specific faiths looking for people with similar beliefs, people looking for overweight mates, black men looking for white women, disabled people looking for other disabled people and even non-disabled people looking for disabled people, etc. Anyway, I thought I would post the URL for a website here that is a social network which provides links for hundreds of niche sites. I went to this site, but to find out more about it I would have had to register which I did not want to do. But it says it is a free service, so I hope those of you interested enjoy it.

The URL is www.passionsnetwork.com.

Hmmmm, interesting concept. I'd never heard of it, but I can see where these types of sites would have their uses.

So can I. As someone with multiple disabilities I can see where a niche site for one of my conditions would be useful. Actually more than that, I'd use them myself. Sadly the only ones I know of aren't accessile, but ah well. Great post though Becky, thanks for that.

Cheers,
Simon

I posted about this to help people who are truly looking for a partner, not so idiots like you could play pranks on people.

Hi, I seen a story on TV not too long ago about that same sice. I think its called Farmers only. Its supposed to be for farmers and ranchers, and people from small towns. But then if anyone wants a free cite, there is plenty of fish.
Blessings,
Angela

We should have a dating network for the blind. It would be accessible, have lots of useful features and it would have niches of its own. A section for deaf/blind, musicians looking for other musicians, maybe even a section for those of us with multiple disabilities. I don't know.

We already do have a dating site for the blind, Brandi. It's called the Zone. *Grin* Seriously though, I agree with Becky in post five.

You all assume I was going to pick on disabled people or people from small towns, this is not correct. I intend on picking on people with weard feddishes such as dressing up as animals or star trek characters durring sex.

Don't know if they advertise this in other places or not, but around here they are constantly playing ads for this Ashley Madison site on the radio. I think I've even heard ads on XM, so maybe it is national. Anyway, Ashley Madison is site for people who are already in relationships who want a discrete affair. Basically, if you want to cheat on your partner, here is the site to find people who want to do the same. Their commercials are pretty sickening. I'm really surprised I haven't heard about any organizations protesting this company.

Wow, that's horrible!

Yes! I've also ehard of Ashley madison, and it was quite disturbing. I think the argument is that "other bad habits get to advertise, you don't have to do it if you don't want to (smoking, alcohol, etc.).". And RBM, I think you should register looking for an extremely overweight person and tell each applicant that they're way too thin to fulfil your ultimate fetish fantasy.

Yeah. I've heard of that Ashley Madison website before. that is kinda disturbing actually. besides, If you're not happy with your partner why not break up with him/her. Well that's a different topic right there anyways.

Lol Skyla, too funny!
It would also be amusing to post an ad on a foot fetish site asking for people who have more then the average number of toes on each foot. I have seen six. Do we have seven, come on seven, does anyone have seven?
The hairiest feet might be interesting as well.
